Another piece of shitty free-verse poetry that I threw up onto the page without editing.

We are adjoined, you and I;
We imitate the same mistake

With our cool clever masks
Of disdainful light, betrayed
And safety pinned to our faces:
Necessary, static sobriquets
For the hateful cycle of
Nine to five: the daylight hours

Beneath
Darkness bleeds from our
 Never healing wounds

And from our pens

It crawls across our skin

And stains our clothing black
As it does this page

Beneath
Secretly we scale this
Inverted crescendo

Down into the depths of

Coalescent never ending pain

And the bleeding chaos

Of broken thoughts

Beneath
We live in crystal dreams
And covet shadows;
As our liquid hearts seep
Between the inked lines

Of never ending prose:

Of poetic self-destruction

We are disjointed, you and I
We imitate the same mistake
