Prologue: The Darkest Brightness

Miscellaneous by: Zin Dar

Summary

While the prologue remains independent of the story, it is not necessary to read it, but it brings more in-sight, foreshadowing and understanding of the story to come.
The story is loosely based on the game "The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion", but I'd like this to still be "Action and Adventure" category.

Prologue

In a world, not too different from ours, yet heavens apart, there’s a certain creature. His name is “Zin-Dar”. He is very much man-like, only of a different race than the common man. The world he lives in has mystery, magic, demons, undead, warriors, thieves and many other things, that aren’t so common in our world. The year is 428, of the third era, in the empire of Cyrodiil. All these things will be explained by the person who’s about to become an author himself. He has a dark past he’s trying to drown in alcohol, just like now.

Zin-Dar orders his last drink for the night, which costs him the final remnants of his inherited fortune from his late parents. Next to him sits an elf with brown bark-like skin, sipping off the only cup he could afford that night.

By the table behind Zin-Dar, close to the door, there’s a rather tall lady, with a wry smile on her face, drinking her fourth drink with a lemon in it. She’s discussing business with a dark brown man with short brown hair, in a brown vest.

The table farthest from the door is occupied by two strange men. One short elf has a bow around his torso, wearing quite regular clothing for this era. The taller man has more characteristics. He has silvery hair combed back, and dark green cat-eyes. He wears a dark robe, leaned over with his hood on, so only his fellow elf can hear him.

The rest of the room is filled with blacksmiths, tailors, book sellers, general goods merchants, sorcerers, mercenaries and other businessmen which soon will help unravel an adventure Zin-Dar never thought he would embark on.
