Long ago,

My heart was torn apart,

It took time to put the pieces back together,

But I succeeded,

I built walls around me

To protect the feeble heart inside,

To keep the scars from opening,

From burning in pain

When someone came too close,

They’ve grown strong without my knowing,

And now I can’t bring them down,

They can’t be broken,

They can’t be cracked,

I locked myself inside them,

My haven became my prison,

I cry out for someone,

But no one can hear,

I kick and scream

For them to fall,

But they’re way too strong,

To strong for me,

I’m alone in here

And I need someone to help,

I need someone to save me from myself,

I need a fire to melt these walls of ice,

The walls that are my prison.
