Emma's parents have been brutally murdered. Now Emma the only survivor hatches a plan to find the killer. Once finding out who it was Emma gets adopted by the coopers but something is bugging her. The killer she found sounded like he was forced to admit it. How deep does this thing go? Now Emma must get back on her feet and find the true killer.

She had to keep running. Emma didn't Know if there was much time. She ran into the nearby forest. Faster and faster. Her heart pounding like wildfire. She stopped. Emma turned around. In the distance she could see a faint glow. The fire from her house. Emma suddenly realised since she was the only survivor she had to leave a note somewhere explaining what had happened. She wasn't going to be around to to explain. Emma ran through the forest to the other side of town, found a lamppost and stuck her note on it and disappeared.

The next day a man in his late forties called Tom Radcliffe who had recently got over something tragic himself was in shock when he was taking his daily walk and stopped to read the note. It read: "23 bishop road has burnt down. My parents and pet dog are both dead. I am no longer in bishop road or anywhere in the city for that matter. Emma". Tom Radcliffe quickly headed home. He did not want to be in trouble with the public again.

Emma was a skinny 15 years old and had white skin and black hair. Her eyes were light blue. As she sat on a bench in a place called kings Lynn. Her parents death and the events after it went through her head in every detail there was.

Inside Emma's head

My parents. Dead. I can't believe it. A hooded figure walking silently up the driveway. A knife 6 inches long in hand. Me in my parents room, reading to my mum and dad. Hooded figure walks into the room and throws a dart at my fathers shoulder. Blood oozing out quickly. Mum screaming. Hooded figure, stabbing my mum to death. The knife slowly cutting her starting from in-between her legs and slowly going to her chest.

I'm screaming and crying. The hooded figure hit me on the face. He runs downstairs, turns on the gas and the house goes up in flames. I run down stairs and see my dog locked up in a small cage. The hooded figure is gone. I know I have to get out of here. I grab a pen and paper. I don't know why. It just seems important. I run outside and I keep running, through the woods to the other side of town. I realise the paper is to write a note. I do just that, stick it to a pole and get on a bus to Kings Lynn.
I spend the night on the bus. It's morning now. I head to a bench, sit and think.

Reality

What could she do now? Emma had nowhere to go. Her parents were dead and all her other family members were in Hong Kong which was miles away. She had an older brother but he hadn't spoken to anyone in the family for at least 6 months. The last Emma heard from him he was all pissed off at mum for not being around and supporting him and dad for not providing college funds. He was 24 years old when he left.

Emma knew one thing. She couldn't sit on the bench all day. She got up and walked to the nearest WHSmith. Maybe a magazine could clear her head. Emma walked into the shop. It was not too busy but rather small. She walked up to the magazine section and picked up the latest issue of total film magazine. She started walking to the checkout when a newspaper headline caught her eye. Emma went over to it. "GIRL GONE MISSING AFTER DEATH OF PARENTS" screamed the headline.

Emma dropped her magazine and began to read the newspaper. "15 year old Emma has fled from her parents house after their deaths late Saturday night. She left this note found taped to a tree by Tom Radcliffe. "23 bishop road has burnt down. My parents and pet dog are both dead. I am no longer in bishop road or anywhere in the city for that matter. Emma". Police are looking for her in London and Birmingham".

Emma picked up the magazine and after paying for it walked out of the shop in a daze. So the press knew about her parents death did they? She thought. Emma was really glad that someone knew about it. Someone cared for her. Emma suddenly felt quite happier. She bought a bag, put her magazine in it and walked off.

A few weeks before her parents died Emma's parents opened up her own bank account and put in £10,000. Emma was clearly not short on cash. Her parents were not too rich but not poor either. The moneyarrow-10x10.png\" would be of some use Emma thought. She decided to use some of the money to stay the night in the premier inn.

The premier inn was a hotelarrow-10x10.png\" in Kings Lynn 12 Clenchwarton Road West Lynn. As Emma walked into the hotelarrow-10x10.png\" a pleasing sight met her eyes. The inside of the building was covered in a marble floor and a wooden front desk. Dangling from the ceiling was a giant glittering silver star and a roof that reflected the sun in the way of a rainbow.

Emma walked up to the front desk. "One single bedroom  for one night please" she politely demanded to the manager. "Ok that will be £86" said the bored manager. "Oh really that cheap? Ok can I have another night then please? She asked. "The manager looked at her. "Ok that's £149" he said. Emma paid and went up to her room. Room 201.

Emma spent the evening figuring out a plan. She decided she wanted to find her parents killer and not kill the killer but ask why they did what they did. She knew that she would have to travel far and wide to find her parents killer. Emma looked at her watch. 9:32pm. She would get some sleep and figure the rest on in the morning.

The next day Emma went on her emails and found an unread message from mysteriouskiller@hotmail.com which was strange. Emma read it. "Emma. I know what happened to your parents. Get a plane ticket to Massachusetts, Boston USA and I will meet you 5 miles from the airport" the email read. Emma read the message 3 times and then said "if this is what it takes to find my parents killer then I will do it".

Emma walked out of the hotel and got the next flight to Boston. "Ok that will be £582 unless you want to go to business class and pay £1,116." Said the airport ticket guy. "Business class" confirmed Emma. She payed for the flight and soon she was halfway to her destination, Boston.

Meanwhile the hooded figure called his agent in Boston from the UK. His agent listened and then pasted the sticky note on a lamppost exactly 5 miles from the airport. They spoke for a little longer before the hooded figure put the phone down. He smiled to himself. Emma is one less thing he had to deal with now she was out of the country the hooded figure thought.

Arriving at Boston airport Massachusetts, USA felt strange to Emma as she had never been there before. Emma checked her emails. "I will meet you 5 miles from the airport" it read. Emma assumed it meant 5 miles along the road. She waited around for her luggage, grabbed her bag and got into a taxi. "5 miles along this road please and if I need to return to the airport I will pay double" said Emma.

5 miles down the road the taxi came to a halt. "Your English so in English moneyarrow-10x10.png\" that's £5.20 please" the taxi driver said. Emma wasn't listening. She was already out the cab and looking for the mysterious guy who would meet her. Emma noticed a post it note stuck to a lamppost. She approached it. The note read "Emma, you have been tricked. I wanted you out of the UK so I sent you to Boston. By the way I am in Boston UK not USA so you will never find me and guess what? I'm staying in the premier inn". Emma turned around and walked to the cab. "Here's £10.40 take me back to the airport." Emma said.

Rushing passed security Emma managed to get on the next flight to Manchester airport, UK. While on the plane Emma came up with another plan.

Inside Emma's head

I have been tricked. Tricked by my parents killer. I must confront him about his actions. I need to know who he is and why he did it and why I am his survivor. On arrival at Manchester airport I will grab a taxi to Boston UK premier inn hotelarrow-10x10.png\". If he is there I will confront him.

He could be dangerous. I must buy a knife for self defence. I will call the police the moment I find out who this guy is. The strange thing is I haven't heard from my older brother yet. Did the killer kill him first? Does my brother even know? So many questions so little time.

Reality

Emma finally arrived at Manchester airport. She got into the nearest taxi. "Premier inn near Boston and step on it please" Emma said. The taxi driver stared at Emma as if trying to figure her out before nodding his head slowly, turning round and starting the long drive to Boston.

Boston. What a place. A nice town in Europe where nobody cared what you did and what you didn't. The hooded figure loved it. He enjoyed the sweet taste of wine knowing that somewhere in Africa children couldn't even afford water yet he could sit here and enjoy something he didn't even like that much.

The hooded figure picked up his phone. The called was his agent. After a few seconds he put the phone down. He heard all he needed to hear. The hooded figure stood up and walked back to his hotel roomarrow-10x10.png\".

"£21 please" said the taxi driver. "But your meter says I need to pay £89" replied Emma. "£21 please" the taxi driver repeated. Emma paid £21 and walked into the premier inn. She walked to the front desk. "Tell me what room a hooded figure is staying in" said Emma. "Well the only hooded figure I've seen stays in room 304" said the manager. Emma ran up the stairs to room 304.

Bursting into room 304 Emma got a surprise. The hooded figure was sitting on his bed in all black. "You killed my parents" spat Emma in disgust. "Hi Emma. Long time no see" said the hooded figure. The figure slowly took off his hood and smiled at Emma's look of horror on her face. It was her 24 year old brother Tom.

"You!" Emma cried. "Why did you kill our parents?" She asked. Tom looked at her and smiled sadly. "Because they never cared for me. Never took the time to love me. I was merely getting rid of a problem" Tom explained. "That's not true Tom they loved you. Your a really shitty person Tom and what you did to them was a really shitty thing to do" said Emma, tears ran down her eyes.

"Little sister, you better not call the cops. It will be our little secret" said Tom. Suddenly they both heard sirens. "Sorry. I already called the cops right before I cam up here" said Emma. "Freeze. Your under arrest for the murder of Stacy and Bradley Cartwright" said the policemen as they burst into the room.

Emma watched as her brother was dragged away shouting and screaming. Emma thought it was pathetic.  A cop came over to talk to her. "Emma we know a family called the coopers who are looking for a teenage daughter to look after. I think you will find they are very nice people." Emma looked at the cop and laughed. "Yes if they want me they can have me. I would be part of a family again".
