Profile Information

I grew up in West Virginia-- surrounded by local legends, vibrant people, and clear night skies. Every night in the summer, I found myself sprawled out on the grass on my dad's farm along side my step-sisters, looking up at the impossibly large ocean of stars and imagining what worlds may lay beyond. This thought process inspired a love of writing and story telling.

I always loved to write-- to create portals with words through which a reader could see a universe that had been born inside the paracosm of my tiny ten-year-old mind. I loved to write plays with my sisters, write stories with them, and share books I found and grew to love. When I was in my early teen years, my biggest influence came to me in the form of Orson Scott Card's 'Ender's Game'. I read that book a dozen times, noting all his writing patterns, the way he described the universe, and the deep ethical questions he tackled. I did the same with every other book connected to the character I'd grown to love. Card pulled up a passion in me for science fiction that eventually fostered the initial ideas that would turn into 'Proxima: Rebellion'.

As I got older, I found myself writing more and more. I fell in love with the descriptive aspects of free-verse poetry. I emulated the writing styles of Card and Meyer-- specifically from 'The Host'. Science Fiction became my one true love and, eventually, grew into what is now 'Proxima: Rebellion' and its coming companion novels and sequels.

My passions didn't come without their costs. I spent so much of my time living in worlds I made that- between my mental illness and my imagination-- I found it hard to keep friendships or relationships. I questioned myself often, never really felt I fit in anywhere, and used my writing as a form of escapism in online rpg groups. Though, through that, I found my best friend and my writing developed alongside theirs. We grew together as artists and people- both beginning our journeys towards a career in out respective art forms fairly recently. Now, with them and my partner supporting me, I've started to pursue a life I've always wanted: creating universes to share with others.

I hope you all enjoy the universes I share with you.
