READING REQUESTS ARE CLOSED! (Trying to focus on uni application reading at the moment (700 page 'The Classical World' is not a walk in the park, let me tell you)))

BUT PLEASE NOTE - I WILL BE COMPLETELY HONEST IN ANY COMMENTS I LEAVE. I WILL ALWAYS TRY TO FIND SOMETHING YOU CAN IMPROVE, AND SOMETHING I ENJOYED, SO DON'T ASK ME TO READ YOUR WORK IF YOU CAN'T HANDLE CONSTRUCTIVE CRITICISM! also I may take a little while to get around to reading things, but I will eventually, I promise!

What do I read? Please see below ^_^

I'm not really using Booksie at the moment, since I'm not publishing any chapters, but I'm active on twitter and tumblr, so please find me there (links on the thumbnails above). Embarking on NaNoWriMo this year, because I am a crazy fool, so come follow my hijinks! ;D

My favourite genres are dystopia, fantasy and sci-fi, but I do read romance as well, providing it's not toooo mushy :)

Nothing about tweeny vampires please...romance + vampires = suck; it's been overdone I'm afraid. HOWEVER, I'm partial to a bit of Bram Stoker and Anne Rice (and a guilty bit of Southern Vampire Mysteries O.O)

As of July 2012, I will no longer be accepting reading requests for poetry. As someone who is not a writer of poetry, I do not feel that I am in a position which allows me to give you any constructive criticism in regards to your poetry, and I am not here to give you mindless praise. I will therefore delete any poetry reading requests. {please note: if you write both poetry AND prose, just leave me a request for your prose instead!}

IF YOUR GRAMMAR SUCKS, I WON'T ENJOY YOUR STORY, NO MATTER HOW GOOD IT IS. I don't know about you, but I learnt good grammar in primary school, so if you can't do it, maybe think about going back there? hmmm?

[Sorry about the rants, please comment on my work or profile if you feel like a chat anytime, I'm friendly really ^_^]

'A strong and bitter book-sickness floods one's soul. How ignominous to be strapped to this ponderous mass of paper, print and dead man's sentiment. Would it not be better, finer, braver to leave the rubbish where it lies and walk out into the world a free untrammelled illiterate Superman?' - Solomon Eagle

'aellaie' is a mush-up of the ancient greek name Aellô, meaning 'Whirlwind', and the japanese name Ai, meaning 'Love' (I realise this is super cheesy, but hey, I like the end result xD)

An interesting fact about me?

I have Ordinal linguistic Personification which means I inadvertently assign genders to numbers and letters.

I also have Trypophobia - a fear of lots of very small holes in an object (e.g. a bee hive) or a pattern of repeating small shapes!

'The Road goes ever on and on

Down from the door where it began.

Now far ahead the Road has gone,

And I must follow, if I can,

Pursuing it with weary feet,

Until it joins some larger way

Where many paths and errands meet.

And Whither then? I cannot say.'

My work-in-progress ~ Aetola's Children

In the modern city of Aetola, trouble is brewing. The youth of the city have long been plotting to overthrow the adults and rule themselves, but when a teen named Moros comes along promising them everything, he soon turns nasty. He starts killing adults, and any young people who fail to comply, giving them the choice to follow him, or be slaughtered like their parents.
On the run, the young people are forced to flee into the outside world: a world that is unfamiliar and medieval in comparison. A group of the youth meet at the nearby docks, and together decide to set up a camp for evacuees with powers, the people who, in the city, were feared and despised.
With Moros’ influence spreading to the surrounding towns and cities, it is only a matter of time before his ultimate dream is realised; the extermination of all adults and complete control for him and his followers. This group of rogue youths plan to stop him, but will powers be their saviours, or their downfall?
