Profile Information

I have had the privilege of having two creative parents in my life. My father, a writer and my mother, a painter. Since childhood, I have been deeply interested in art, always observing my parents while they expressed their creativity. Being creative themselves, my parents have always supported my dream to pursue art as a profession.

I was also fortunate to have art teachers in high school who took a special interest in my education. They encouraged and inspired me to enter art shows, contests, and apply for scholarships. By my senior year in high school, I sold four paintings, won three statewide contests, and received two scholarships.

After high school I pursued a career in custom art. I’ve done everything from wedding dress design, to business cards to murals and much more. I enjoyed custom art very much but I knew I could improve my skills and in doing so further my career. I was ready for a change but I wasn’t sure what that was. Everything came into perspective on my recent trip to Disneyland. Ever since I was young, Iíve always loved cartoons. As a child and young adult, animation was always my favorite genre. I’ve always dreamed of being an illustrator. Somehow growing into adult hood being faced with daily life, school and work, I had forgotten that dream. This trip to Disneyland helped me remember my passion. I can’t think of anything more fun and exciting than creating joy for people through illustration.

That was when I decided to go back to school and get a degree in Illustration.  I chose the Academy of Art University in San Francisco.  I was ecstatic to be accepted, its where I continue to learn and grow toward a career in animation, children’s book illustrations and hopefully one day Disney block busters.  Until then, I always keep my creativity flowing with school and side projects.

If you like my work please check it out and donate to my schooling if you're so inclind. Thank you for your interest.
