★ The Three Golden Rules ★
♎ Who am I?♌
My name is Amy. I joined Booksie when I was 15, and for a few years I was a fairly active member. After the site had an influx of Twilight-influenced work, and the quality of storytelling and writing dropped, I left. But now I'm back :)
I'm a Uni student, studying a double major of Professional & Creative writing, and Literary Studies. I already have my diploma in Professional Writing and Editing - so I am tough when it comes to critiquing work; I'm a bit of a perfectionist ;)
Please remember that I have a very heavy workload, and I will not be able to keep in touch with writers as much as I would like to. When I have the time and mental energy, I will most likely look at someone's work.
In terms of what I will be posting, I doubt I will be uploading any work I am serious about. I don't really trust Booksie's policies. So for now, expect Short Stories and a few opinion pieces.
♥ What I like ♥
Obviously, I love to read and write. I am a huge Potterhead - proud to say I am part of the Potter Generation; and, yes, I am a Ravenclaw.
When I'm not reading or writing, I do Tarot readings... or party. Partying is good.
Chocolate and tea. Pinterest. Monster High dolls (I have 30+ all in their boxes). American Horror Story.
I like people who take their work seriously. People who spend a lot of time editing, and actively listening for constructive feedback.
If we're talking genre, my bookshelf is an ecclectic collection of Harry Potter, Astrology/Tarot books, YA novels, Classics, Gothic or Supernatural stories, Drama and Coming of Age - Laurie Halse Anderson's novels are beautiful.
☽ What I don't like ☾
Try to keep up (if your work is like this, then don't bother asking me to read it): Vampire romance stories, Angsty Emo Bullshit, Love Triangles, people who write in text talk, people who don't know how to format their work.
Also, I had my anime phase when I was 15. I'm now 20 and a big girl, so... the only anime/manga I am interested in are the ones that have nostalgiac value to me - Digimon, Sailor Moon, early Pokemon and Cardcaptors. Please... I don't want to read about stories that are clearly written by some white teenager who wants to go to Japan. Just no.
Rude people. Seriously, if you're someone who just comes to my page, leaves a comment asking me to read your work, that's just rude. And if you're someone who leaves generic comments on my work, like "that was great" or "I liked the end", then that's just pathetic. I am not here to give ego boosts or add to your comment count.
