Profile Information

My name is Andrew Canfield and this is my first time to use Booksie. I am a high school social studies teacher with a love for writing, reading, running, cycling, and spending time with wife and young son. We enjoy spending time in nature and enjoying the beautiful, natural scenery of Colorado.

I am originally a native of Shreveport, Louisiana, and currently reside in Denver, Colorado. The love of reading and writing was instilled in me as a young child, and in second grade I even hosted a "book sale" (with help from my family) of books I had written in the front yard of my childhood home.

When it comes to writing inspirations, I have a host of them I enjoy: Joshua Ferris, Donna Tartt, and John Hart are a sampling of the fiction writers I love. also am a constant reader of history, both U.S. and world; David McCullough, Jon Meacham, and Dorris Kearns-Goodwin are some fabulous nonfiction writers. A Michael Connelly thriller as a break between a tome on history of a more lengthy novel can be enjoyable as well.

I love going to baseball games (go Rockies) and attending other sports games as well. The competition, strategy, and storylines of sports are always compeling. I completed my undergradute work at UT Arlington UTA and my postgraduate teaching degree at Centenary College of Louisiana CLA. I hope my writing inspires people to have a love of literature and a well-told, well-written story.
