Profile Information

I enjoy the weight of the pen, the smell of fresh paper, the thrill of spinning a story. I hope you enjoy my works, as they are based on my own experiences and struggles. I know that my activity has remained inactive since 2009, but I have grown much as a person and am now a more capable writer (though I have found that countless research papers have resulted in a much drier feel to my writing style) . Feel free to send a message my way, I will gladly check out your work or will respond to comments on my own.

More about me:

While sociable, I had never felt like I fit in with others, even my own family. I was always very bookish, quiet, and passive. Much has changed since as I have grown to be fiercely independent and more confident in my abilities. I have learned that belongingness stems not from being denied from the company of others, but denial of yourself. Acceptance is the only cure to overcoming the insecurities that youth presents.

I have also come to realize how ignorant I was in the past. We take for granted our health, our youth, our lives. Being diagnosed with an autoimmune disease drastically changed my life. It was during this time that I learned strength and determination. I told myself I would get better, I would perservere despite my illness, and that my illness would not hinder me from fulfilling my dream. I cast aside all feelings of self pity and instead  I felt appreciation to have had this opportunity for self-growth.

Taking my experiences thus far into account, I have come to the conclusion that people do indeed change (which I did not believe before). In fact, we change day by day, shaped by every experience as insignificant as they might seem. My advice to you, dear reader, is this: take every bad moment in life and learn to grow from it, for that is the only way to truly live beyond society's mediocre expectations of you.

That is all,
