In my portfolio, you will find:

Nonfiction Essays:  These all appeared first as posts on my blog.  They represent what I consider to be the best of those posts. They are, with one exception, light in tone. Some are humorous.  Their subject matter is taken from my daily life and the events that happen in it. These are all rated G.

The Lida Stories:  Lida is a beautiful green planet with three moons, where the horses dance, the bluefish sing, and the people live gently on the land.  All of the Lida stories are about the members of one family.  At some point (I hope!) I will post a longer work, the foundation narrative, about a man, recently widowed, his young son, and a long journey the two of them make across their world.  It will consist of a series of stories told from the boy’s point of view.  Each story will be about one of the places they come to during the course of their journey, and the people they meet there. The journey is the unifying thread that runs through each of the stories and the underlying theme is an exploration of different aspects of the concept of “family.”  The Lida stories I currently have posted occur much later, after the boy has left home.  His father has since remarried and now has two young sons from this second marriage.  These stories are all rated G.

Stories of The Kinds: Very early in the history of the Human race, when the only place Humans lived was Africa, a different kind of Human arose who had abilities that other Humans did not have.  The oldest and wisest women of their  kind decided that God the Mother had given them their abilities so that they could help and protect the other kind.  As Humans began to spread out across the world, this kind went with them, helping, teaching, guiding, becoming the kernals of truth behind the myths and legends.  However, they soon came to realize that it was wiser to conceal their abilities and work for good from behind the scenes.  Their kind are long lived, they have always been  matriarchal, and some of them have animal forms as well as Human ones.  These stories are rated “Restricted” for adult themes and sexual content.

Other Stories:  None yet.
