Mercedes GLC V/s BMW X3 – Let the Better Win

The SUV market has really picked up in the last one and a half decade in almost all sections of the automobile industry. Whether it is the budget hybrid SUV slash hatchback models or premium SUVs, the sports utility vehicle is the look that most car lovers are going for. Therefore it would be befitting to compare luxury SUV models from the biggest car makers in the world including Mercedes GLC and BMW X3.

1. Appearance

Mercedes Benz GLC is truly class apart with subtle yet elegant character lines not only over the front fascia but also on the side profile. The alloy wheels on the side are quite charming whereas the rear portion is also well constructed. When it comes to dimensions, Mercedes Benz GLC garners a length of 4656mm, a width of 1890mm and a height of 1639mm. BMW X3 offers a similar built to Mercedes Benz GLC but is rather a bit cleaner in its design. Dimensionally too, it is quite similar to the German automaker with a length of 4657mm, a width of 2089mm and a height of 1678mm.

Both the cars are quite similarly priced as well and are quite expensive. There are used Mercedes cars in Delhi that customers can go for in order to get a reduced cost.

There are 8 colors on offer for BMW X3 including Black Sapphire, Deep Sea blue, alpine white, space grey and Melbourne Red. Mercedes Benz GLC on the other hand has 5 colors on offer including Obsidian black, citrine brown, Iridium silver and diamond white bright.

2. Engine

The engine specifications for both cars are impressive. Mercedes Benz GLC is loaded with a 2.2 litre 16V diesel engine that has a displacement of 2143cc and runs on four cylinders of four valves each. The engine chucks away 170bhp power at 3000 to 4200rpm whereas the torque twisted away by the car is 400Nm at 1400 to 2800. BMW X3 on the other hand has much impressive numbers as it uses the 3 litre 24V diesel engine that has a displacement of 2993cc and works with 6 cylinders of four valves each. The engine gives away 258bhp power at 4000rpm along with a torque of 560Nm at 1500 to 3000rpm.

BMW X3 uses 4 wheel drive setup with a 8 speed automatic transmission system whereas the Mercedes Benz GLC uses an All wheel drive setup with a 9 speed automatic transmission system.

3. Performance

Mercedes Benz GLC is pretty quick and can go from 0 to 100kmph in a span of 8.3 seconds. The BMW X3 betters the performance of Mercedes Benz GLC with a top speed of 232kmph and can go from 0 to 100kmph in just 5.9 seconds.
