Profile Information

I was born and raised in Brazil, My parents were Holocaust survivors. My mom told her story in  the book "The children who survived the final solution", page 72. She was kept alive by writing funny songs as skits  in the saddest place in the world. My dad never told any stories about his time in Buchenwald, instead he lived each day with joy and wonder. My father's stories of amazing faith, courage and generosity were told to us by fellow survivors who came to pay their respects after my dad passed away. In a place where food and hope was almost non-existent, my father would share his food anytime he was able to find it, as one of the men told us at the cemetery, "your father never ate alone, he never hid the food so he could live another day". " your father he continued, would invite the other walking skeletons, to partake the scraps he managed to find, the prisoners would shake their heads in disbelief of these acts of generosity and hope in a place where self preservation was understood and it was expected whereas kindness and love for your fellow human being was looked at as an act of recklessness and even madness." My father lived the rest of his life humbly, quietly disbursing hope, laughter and help, anywhere and to anyone that was in need.

I am a clinical therapist, I was married and divorced and married again, and yes, you guessed it, again divorced. I finally understand that I don't do well with the concept of marriage. I have a tendency of getting very excited with an idea and I forget to share it with my significant other which makes them feel, I imagine, less than significant and in fear of having a cardiac event.   I  have two sons ages 24 and 31, the oldest is a fantastic writer, he is writing a 5 book series that are for the moment top secret. He has only shared his content with me after a two hour oath ceremony that involved incense and pinky swear. A big shot agent in NY has seen his writings, I am not sure if she had to abide by the pinky swear, oath ceremony. My other son is into software development and game design and being wild and free.

I share my home with dogs and I am waiting for my next dog, who will be joining us in November. Lulu is an American Alsatian who weighs a respectable 160 lbs. She will be training to be a service and emotional support dog. She has already mastered the art of relaxing someone in distress sitting on them...you have no other choice other than relax and wait until she feels like getting up. I am an artist also and my paintings tell stories as well. I paint a realistic style in oils and watercolors. I live in New England, the land of the frozen and slightly antisocial with funny sounding accents and I love it! You learn how community relationships are important after you spend your first Winter trying to maintain body heat and your sanity as the Winter months slowly go by. Being Brazilian in New England is very interesting to say the least. I have adopted the penguin style of walking in the snow and although it lacks in elegance it manages to keep me upright..most of the time.

I have been in the green mountain state since 2020, I have no plans to move anywhere else as it is too cold to step out of the house during the Winter, Spring brings the mud season which prevents you from driving more than 5 miles before getting stuck. Summer time is short, two or three months at the most. Everyone seats in the sun hoping to absorb the much needed vitamin D and lose the "I just saw a ghost" color from our faces. That is when the mosquitoes and some strange biting  beetles that fly. They come out, forcing us to either use several bottles of insect repellent or run back into the house for safety. By the time you sum up the courage and strength to pack everything and move, Fall arrives with its stunning colors and mild weather and we fall in love again with New England and especially  my town.
