Profile Information

I am a 40 y/o single female.  I have no children and have never been married, however I have 4 nephews that I love, I am very protective of my family and friends.

I joined the Navy in 1986 and planned to make a 20+ year career of it.  I was on the east coast and Spain and Italy, visited Gibralter, and was also stationed at Orlando Fl, Norfolk Virginia, and Great Lakes - Chicago Illinois.  I really loved it . . . but in 1993 I became very sick, mentally and physically, I spent 83 days in the psychiatric ward at the naval hospital where I was diagnosed with Major Depression, PTSD, anxiety disorder, etc.  On March 31st 1994 I was retired on disability and left  without the world I had come to love so much . . .  A world I knew I would never be able to return to.

As a teen I discovered my talent to write poetry. Time has taught me better ways to think, write, and touch the deepest, the most tender and vulnerable part of a humans soul.  After many more years, I began to publish - first was And So I Wrote, next was And So I Wrote Again.  I am currently finishing my third book, A Full Moon.  Each book can be read in and of itself but they are best when read in order, 1st to 3rd.  I've done pretty good through the years learning to live with not wanting to live until last October, I spent 4 months in the local VA's psych. ward Oct through the 1st of February and I am on so much medication I am currently unable to work or drive or stay awake for very long.  It makes me feel angry, flustrated, helpless and often a worthless burden to others.

I want to do the difficult stuff, like writing one poem that reaches everybody who reads it.  A poem that people remember, memorize, stays on the mind and in the heart of all.  I don't care about being famous but I would be honored if a poem I wrote was.

Personally, I love several poems that others have written, such as . . .  He drew a line that cut me out and I drew a circle that took him in.

I also love . . . I'd rather be a ship that sails and rides the billows wild and free than to be a ship that fails to leave it's port and go to sea.

Well, that's about it for now.
