On October 5th, 2001, Darren Oberhaus’ left hand was
crushed in a work related accident, severing his left thumb and
causing extensive bone, vessel, and nerve damage. As he received
a large settlement and began to recuperate, he went back to
college, earned his GED, and also earned a degree in creative
writing. Always having been a big fan of different genres of
film, he also spent many years watching hundreds of films of
different genres which helped to inspire his own film
screenplays, dismissed at first as “amateurish” and
But Darren got the last laugh.
Today, Darren is a writer of non-fiction books and independent film screenplays, two of which have been opted for film for a fall 2012 release. He is also a celebrity interviewer, and has interviewed almost fifty celebrities within the film, TV, and publishing industries. His forthcoming book, Bang Your Head, is due for release in the spring of 2013, and his latest screenplay, Sunsets and Stone, is being reviewed by an independent filmmaker for possible production as of this writing.
He lives in Indianapolis, Indiana, where he is semi-retired from the landscaping business and is working on his next book. He enjoys ice cold beer, Domino’s pizza, and watching his new favorite TV show, Person of Interest. Now, if you will excuse him, he is going to go watch TV instead of writing this bio.
