My name David is David James Dottle I am a forty-six year old man born, bread and raised in Northeastern Pennsylvania (Scranton) I was married to the most wonderful little flower child Diane Hendrickson Dottle this author will likely ever meet. The powers that be decided that her work here was done at the age of thirty-two that was ten years ago. The product of that relationship is the apple of my eye our beloved son Shane Dottle. He will be eighteen in about six months. I also had the great privilege of raising my late wife's daughter Cathy Hendrickson.
I began writing thirty-two years ago after I truly believed my life was over. I was walking through an ally with a friend of mine Gerard Cafferty when out came "Juno" a huge Siberian husky that I had never seen out of his cage. Juno walked up to me and I was paralyzed with fear. The dog then circled around in back of me and sniffed up the back of my leg at which time I felt a sharp pain in my back and two paws on my shoulders. In an instant I was on the ground at which point Juno bite the right side of my head and shook it as if it were a paper bag. Blood poured profusely from my head immediately. I looked up and could clearly see that Juno was preparing for a second attack. I remember thinking to myself "Wow fourteen years! FOURTEEN YEARS!!!!!...... THAT WAS LIFE! FOURTEEN YEARS!" Upon concluding that my young life was only seconds from ending I was overcome with the most intense feeling of relief I have ever before or sense felt. I never ever had to worry about anything! ANYTHING! EVER! AGAIN! The wound to my head took eighteen stitches to close. Having survived however I felt, at fourteen, that I was on borrowed time. I then felt the need to do something. I was not sure what and I struggled with that for quite some time. I finally came to the conclusion that the least I could do was record how I felt about my life and the world in which I was living.
That was thirty-two years ago. I now have a vast amount of material regarding how I felt about my life and the world in which I am living. I have been published in various newsletters, some of which I published myself, others I was payed a nominal amount for my contributions. I am an accomplished musician and painter as well as an actor yet my passion is and always will be the written word. In college I majored in English and was involved in many ventures throughout the years none of which I can say payed of financially. I have a enormous volume of written works which I believe ( if it survives physically) will someday be worth a four tune. I have been told as much by various people who would know. For example my communications professor told me that my work was as good, in some cases better, than some of the works she uses in her communications course at Keystone College La, Plume Pennsylvania. I fully intend to do whatever I can with the huge amount of material I have written. Perhaps this site will help me get to wherever it is the Great Spirit intends for me to be.
