After a long, long absence thanks to several dead computers & a general writers block, I started re-reading all my old works. It's been like getting reaquianted with old friends. For some reason, Face of Intelligence was the one that stood out the most, maybe because it was the one I enjoyed reading the most.
So I ploughed into a fresh chapter & just banged it out in 4 hours from nothing to upload, that's lightspeed for me! The next chapter is itching to place itself on paper as well so I'm hopign to have an update in short order.
I'm likely to focus on this for now but I'm trying to find my feet again. Hopefully this isn't yet another false start.
My name is Martin, and I'm a resident of sunny old England.
With my profession being about as far removed from creative writing as it's possible to be, I've never been able to decide whether I have an overactive, but ultimately useless imagination or whether I'm actually able to put some decent ideas down on paper. In the last few years I've taken to popping ideas down in notes as they come to me and seeing if they have enough substance to get rolling.
Finally decided it was time to let people have a look at what I come up with and so constructive criticism is most welcome. I have one or two other ideas currently floating around that have got beyond the images in my mind, in time I'm sure I'll upload them.
My first project is entitled "Different Worlds", and had spent a long time as a work-in-progress but that was finally completed this year, but I've also made starts on a few other projects that I think have life in them, currently I work primarily on Being My Mum, that's currently at the point where I've begun drafting the ending I want to work towards. I have also made a start on a sequel to Different Worlds, this is entitled Foundtion of Doubt. I've also got a random story called Desperate Turns, as well as another flash of inspiration currently entitled Face of Intelligence. I currently divide my time between them as much as I can.
I always appreciate any useful comments and support, and I'll always try and respond to you.
I use the News tab quite heavily so check there for my latest updates.
I was inspired to begin writing through my own love of reading, ever since I was young when I was taught to read by an extremely good teacher, there was a time when I read everything I could get my hands on, with no prefered genre or length, my favorite book changes from time to time even now.
I hope I'm able to pass on my joy of reading which has inspired me to create some work of my own.
