DENNIS O. SHEPHERD, the author of a self-published book, Praying for Your Congregation (which has now been extended and is to be published in the future by Bliss Books under the title, Prayers to Pray for Your Congregation).  Future titles in this series are:  Prayers to Pray for Your PastorPrayers to Pray for Yourself, and Prayers to Pray for Your Family and Friends.  Another title to be published in the future is Grieving:  Poems of Faith to Help You Through.

Shepherd has written articles for several magazines and newspapers.  One article, Sore Thumb, was published in The Southern Baptist Convention’s magazine, Christian Single.  His poetry has been included in an anthology, magazines, newsletters, and on the Internet. 

Shepherd served in the U.S. Army as a chaplain activities specialist and has been involved as, what he calls, an independent missions worker.  Places include serving in several USA States, Germany, Guatemala, and Haiti.  During this time, he worked with music, youth, and senior adults.  He was raised as a Southern Baptist.   As an adult, he has worked in ecumenical ministry with non-denominational congregations, the United Methodist Church, the United Church of Christ, and the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.).  He has a diploma in Christian Ministry from Boyce Bible School, part of The Southern Baptist Seminary in Louisville, Kentucky.
