Darvin Babiuk holds a Masters degree in Soviet history and has lived and worked in Japan and the Middle East for extended periods of time. His MA thesis was written on British espionage in the USSR during the Bolshevik Revolution. He has published a book-length translation of Japanese fairy tales through Seino Press. His short fiction has been published in The Abiko Quarterly with James Joyce Studies, The Plaza: A Space for Global Human Relations, and Wellspring: Source of Award-Winning Fiction among other publications. He has also published in a number of North American non-fiction avenues as well as translating Japanese-English promotional materials for local government and business in Japan.
