Dr. Greenwood, Jr. was raised in southside Virginia, graduated from the Univ. of Richmond, Va. and earned a Master of Divinity from the Southern Bapt. Theol. Seminary, Louisville, Ky. in 1969 ...and the Doctor of Ministry from Southeastern Bapt. Theol. Seminary, Wake Forest, NC in 1986. He has been a pasor in NC for some 30 years and has been on 25 overseas mission trips to Russia (2x), Ukraine ( 2x), Athens, Greece, Amsterdam, Jerusalem, Belize, Jamaica ( 4x), St. Lucia, Babados, Toronto,Ca. (4x), and Uganda.
He has been an adjunct professor of New and Old Testament survery classes for Gardner-Webb Univeristy for 20 years.
He and his wife, Sheryl have two adult children and six grandchildren.
Bill is a widower-having lost his wife of 50 years in 2018. Now he mentors younger pastors and supplies in area churhes as a guest pastor.
