I am a bit of an "Odd cookie". My dad always said that "You're a coconut. Usually children don't fall too far from the apple tree, but you were from a coconut tree. You fell in the ocean and ended up with us apples." At first, this quote always frankly mad me mad. However, as time went on, I embrace it more then ever. You just won't find someone else like me.
My interests and hobbies span far as well as very wide. I have been introduced to many cool and interesting things in my life. I am blessed for this and it's probably why you may find me bit odd or unique. I prefer unique haha, but hey if you think odd, then let's roll with it.
When I was five years old, my Dad took me on a backpacking trip. Ever since then, outdoors have been a very inspirational and enlightening part of my life. I spend quite a bit of my hours in them. From backpacking, climbing mountains, hikes, canoeing, snowshoeing, skiing, the list goes on. I am always and constantly in the outdoor elements. I think it gives perspective to an already loud and often obnoxious lifestyle. It clears all the artificial light and makes things very simple.
Photography which started because of backpacking is also something I do enjoy tremendously. Started with landscapes but now I damper a little here and there. I love color. It's probably why I do love anime very much. I believe color can passionately arouse feelings with great magnitude as well. So I am always out in a good sunset. Different weather seasons give you different colors too. I love winter for crisp Caribbean blue. Summer for blaring orange. Spring for blush purple and red. Fall for the leaves duh!
As mentioned above, I do like anime. I also like Manga. I don't know why or what possessed me to like it. In high school, I would always make fun of people for watching a cartoon. I was very wrong in doing so, but it wasn't until college my sister introduced it to me Code Geass. Ever since then I was hooked. I tend to read high school drama and love stories. Fantasy and sci-fi though I do enjoy reading, Manga can be a bit out there for me. I think I like the innocence of their love stories. You don't see that much in western culture.
Video games is a huge part of my life. Love single players and mmos. I try to get one every day, but seriously there is so much stuff I love to do. Never works out haha. Final Fantasy 14, I will post my character, is what I enjoy the most right now. Social aspect is appealing. Tons of fun. I think the mix of art and stories is what I fell in love with them. I especially like JRPGS. But I would be lying if I am strictly to them (Tomb Raider Reboot, Assassin's Creed, The Witcher which are great books too, Mass Effect).
I also huge into working out. Most likely because of sports. I try to work out twice a day. I am fairly successful at it. Most of the time I can't is most likely I spend too much time on my first workout.
Why I write:
From a young age I always pretended and created all these worlds I used to play in. Ironically, they stayed with me. Most of them becoming the stories I write about today. I just love to invent worlds and most importantly invent stories inside them.
I am not particularly good at writing. I am actually a screenwriter. Growing up I wanted to be a movie director. I am a very visual person. I wanted to show people what I was writing. That's until I found out that writing you can dive deeper and show more.
I want to share my stories. I don't want to necessarily become huge. I mean who doesn't dream about that? If my story is idealized by a few. I would be very happy.
So I am a very, very, very, and very busy person. However, I am always open up for reading requests.
In college I am a writing tutor. Also, I come from a family of writers. So I have been developing stories and giving feedback at a very young age. So in short...I love giving feedback!!!
One thing I would love to become is a developmental editor. Which is editor that helps the author write the story from scratch. I do love seeing people's stories become what they want them to be. It's not just them that gains something from finishing it. I, the reader, does as well! I want to be inspired. I want to be wowed. I want to read your story haha.
I tend to give a lot of feedback. I can't help it. So this will take me a lot of time to read and get back to you. So I am not ignoring you. I am just giving you a lot of feedback. I don't just focus on grammar, syntax, blah blah that stuff. I mean I will, but I will most likely just tell you to fix it. Your here because you want your story to be told. I will focus mostly on that.
HOWEVER, if your story is riddled with grammatical errors. Reader to writer...it bogs down the reading experience. So please please edit! I found out its most helpful to have a few friends read it before publishing. If you want me to read it before you publish it, just send it to my email. I will have it listed above.
"Stop running. Stop hiding. Pull the mask back, and let yourself be seen. Even with it on, we can still see the real you shinning. Don't be afraid of your scars but instead accept them. Let them define you. They tell a story. Won't you tell it?" Samantha Redding, The Story must go on.
