I love stories...
Ever since I can remember, I have ALWAYS loved stories, be it a story told aloud, on TV, in the movies, or in books, no matter if I was reading them, or someone else was, if there was a story, or a recounting of an event, real or imagined, I loved it, every moment of it, from the little golden books my mother and grandmothers used to read to me as a toddler, to the Hardy Boy's mystery adventures when I got older (which I confess, I still enjoy) all the way to now, in the history and social studies books, the examples and analyzing of literary works from all of humanity, and the compilations of the worlds greatest philosophical works and their writers, yes, I even enjoy reading text books, both for class and for my own enjoyment, I love to read, and what I love to read the most, are stories...
Perhaps that is why I so do enjoy Drama and Acting, and Roll Play so much, the chance to not just read, but retell a story, to make it your own, to make another person, real or imagined, into your own image, to become that person, in that time and place in the world, be it our own little corner of the universe, or some far and away place beyond the stars, or even a place like and as our own, and yet wholly not ours, the chance to become more than, and less than who I really am, to create a story with my wits, and to drive it onwards with my emotion, it is all very true, and in some ways the purest form of expression, when a person can pour themselves out, into something and it causes a reaction, a response from a truly human connection, only then can we draw closer to our creator, and at the same time, farther away...
My real name is there for the asking, but you may address me here as E, E. Steven Baker, Steven, or some such variation, excluding "Stevie" or you may use one of my Web Handles: EastSideBebop, ESB Bebop, ESBebop, or Blaze.
I hope you enjoy my stories as much as I enjoyed writing them!
