My pen name is pronounced with short a's, like in "cat" (I'm trying to change the spelling). It is my great-grandmother's name, and means "exotic" or "foreigner"; as an Iranian-American immigrant living in Califiornia, it captures my experience as a permanent "Other." And in a sense, considering the temporary nature of life, we're all foreigners in the world, like passengers on a plane.
I've always been a writer, but could never organize my thoughts enough to write a substantial story. This is my attempt. If I can make something I find worthy enough, I'm going to try to self-publish on Kindle. For now, I just want to crack my knuckles and get back into a creative writing, so constructive criticism is very welcome.
I'm a university student working on a B.A. International Studies. My interests include mental and physical health, depression, foreign affairs, mysticism, sustainability and art. I am an eclective enthusiast, always trying to establish some roots in one field but getting restless and frolicking off toward some other distraction.
Please let me know if you'd like me to read a story. I'm new to this and might never learn to navigate the website thoroughly, so reach out to me personally!
