Profile Information

Regarding reading requests: I have no interest in poetry or items with an intense focus on romantic subjects.
Anything else is fair game.

Regarding reviews/requests for feedback: I'll start off by saying I can be harsh when it comes to criticism. If I believe there's something wrong in your story, I will point that out. If I believe there's something right in your story, I will point that out as well. Don't expect me to be the kind of guy to go "This was awesome, blablabla, praise praise praise." If you can't stand it when someone points out the flaws in your story, don't bother sending me requests for reviews or feedback.

About Frostedge

There's not much to say about me, other than that I have a small amount of spare time that I spend on things like writing. I write stories for fun, or for Amnesia: The Dark Descent. It's a horror game that allows people to make their own maps and stories.

I'm here to see if there are any interesting things to read, and see if what I write is interesting to others.

What else is there to say? I'm a guy in his twenties who studies in Applied Sciences and has an excessive amount of inspiration juice.

Why I write.

It's escapism, a way out to a world that I create by myself. However it's not just that, whenever I write I feel like the story itself continues on, with me as the medium. Writers are the canvas on which the story paints, a method to channel that story to others. We are the screen on which the movie is shown, while the story is alive and thriving on its own.

Some tips for aspiring novelists. (Because why not?)

Whatever you write, it will never be perfect. There will always be those to find the flaws and point them out, it's up to you to act like an adult and fix the mistakes you make.
Never have your characters be perfect, a perfect character is a boring character.
Try giving the reader different points of view, looking through the same pair of eyes gets old real quick.
Try to avoid clichés like the plague. If someone can predict the course of your story, why would this individual still read it?
There is no true white or black, only grey. It's the same with good and evil. A cartoonishly evil character is an unbelievable character.
