Profile Information

Gregory Dorf joined Equitable Advisors (former AXA Advisors) to leverage his financial and business acumen to benefit his clients by developing holistic and customized strategies that meet their goals and objectives. Dorf is valued most for bringing creative and strategic thinking, along with education and transparency to empower his clients to make the best decisions independently.

In addition to business, lifestyle and financial transition planning, Greg delivers long-term tax-efficient investment and distribution strategies for business owners, their employees, individuals, families and future heirs.

Dorf spent 25 years building and leading the commercial banking business for JPMorgan Chase in Wisconsin where he established himself internally as a performance-driven leader, and externally, as a trusted advisor to the Bank’s commercial clients. Greg’s value is his ability to facilitate organizational planning; alternative succession and exit strategies; financial planning around asset and income diversification, tax-efficiency, and legacy planning. Dorf's unique international background differentiates his ability to deliver global capabilities in the local market. He also specialized in banking and advising 501(c)(3) organizations.

In addition, Dorf has been an active hands-on civic leader within the Greater Milwaukee business and urban cultural and service communities. Significant areas of his contributions include strengthening conditions for business start-ups; industry-specific incubators for business growth, entrepreneurship and partnerships; access to capital and technical resources for women, minority and urban-based entrepreneurs; and most notably, self-sustaining funding models for inner-city home-ownership.

Prior to returning to his native Milwaukee, Dorf acquired a diverse educational background starting with his B.A. from the American University School of International Service with majors in International Development, Economics, and Spanish/Latin American Studies. Dorf obtained his MBA from Boston University in Finance and Accounting with a dual master's degree in Public Sector and Nonprofit Management. Prior to his first professional roles as a Teaching Associate at Harvard University's School of Public Health and as a Management Consultant in developing countries, Dorf resided and studied in Spain and Nicaragua, and served in the Peace Corps and with USAID in the Central American region.
