Profile Information

Call this a working progress. I'll be happy with it eventually...

Introduction:

I am a British GCSE student at the moment, like everyone else in the country, trying to just get through the system. I am a critically minded person that takes an intrest in politics and loves history - but not as a school subject. I teach myself about eras I love which are never covered in school. I am quite rebellious, which comes out in my speech and writing, more so than my actions, and I enjoy controversial things...a lot. I am not politically correct and I don't see that as a bad thing, and it sometimes comes across in my writing. I am not racist or purposefully offensive, but I believe in a right to free speech, and with that I will gladly challange religion, government, and any other form of tarnished or broken authority that I deem wrong. "Freedom is the right to tell people what they do not want to hear" - George Orwell.

I am also quite an emotionally feeling person, which sometimes creeps into my writing over the anger and war which dominates most of it. Feelings such as anger and hate are strong within me, which I vent through writing about war. Often that war is just a metaphor for my internal conflict, and through support of a rebellion, I'll often express my anger to a tyrannical and oppressive authority. I also feel sadness and depression [the feeling, not the mental disease] strongly too. That is evident in both my writing, and much of the music I love.

I love listeing to music, a hobby that I find liberating. In the words of Friedrich Nietzsche, "Without music, life would be a mistake." I also love reading quotes. If they're good...

My favourite eras of history are:

  • The Napoloenic Wars (1799 - 1815)
  • The American Civil War (1861-1865) [I support the Confederate States in case that wasn't clear in my poetry. I do not support slavery - that's a toxic stereotype.]
  • The American Wild West
  • World War One (1914 - 1918)
  • World War Two (1939 - 1945)
