Profile Information

I am a budding author from the U of K. Focus mainly around classic science fiction such as Canticle for Liebowitz, and present day adventure fiction of the likes of Matthew Riley. I always enjoyed reading - a bit too much; at breakfast times when I was younger if I didn't have a book with cereal I would read the copyright details on the cereal packets. As I got older and slipped from teenage fiction such as the Redwall series kicking and screaming into the bare light of adult writing, I felt unhappy with the contributions on the market. There are so little books out there that give you 'a good read'. Airport novels - brhhhh. But all the 'serious' fiction was so caught up in the wonder and pomp of it's own prose and delightful word play - courtesy of, I'm sure, excellent A-levels and degrees in English Language - that it had forgotten what the book was there for. A book is a story, not a showcase of stupendous sentences - see, alliteration? How delightful. Not.

So for a while until I rediscovered authors such as Riley, or the classics like Tolkien, I started making my own stories. When I was walking to and from school or uni, these were in my head. When I was sitting at home, this was on my faithful, battered old wordpad. They would have characters, sub plots, scenery, pathetic fallacy and all the other stuff prose writers love, but most important for me, they would have a story.

These are a few of the ramblings that passed through my head when I was a kid.
