The idea for The Jewish Nun came about when I witnessed the huge hypocrisy of the religious majority on a writing site i was part of. I write about 'Freakstory' in the first chapter of my book. It seemed the only way to go, to attempt to connect with the masses and to express my dismay at their piousness.
I was the third of four children, born to middle-class 'parents.' I had a loving, yet turbullent relationship with my quirky father, who sadly died during my second pregnancy, prematurely at the age of 57. I had a turbullent relationship with my 'mother,' full-stop.
My mother left the family home when I was 12, taking me and my younger sister, to live with her and her lover. My older brother and sister, respectively, 17 and 18 (mid O'levels and A'levels) were left with my father, who within weeks, had lost his job, his self-respect and suffered a complete melt-down. Within a few months of living with a disinterested mother and a violent soon to be step-father, I was placed in a children's home. I am now 52, living under the same roof as the man I have been married to for nearly 33 years, awaiting a divorce. I am still being screwed!
