Poem / Editorial and Opinion
Born to a troubled family, Jackson is a poet and author. He has 3 sisters, 1 elder sister and 2 younger. He never really read any books as his aggressive elder sister read all the time and he was unsure of how following her lead would impress upon her that he was not happy with her attitude. His father was a handsome brutal 17 stone Irishman with a troubled history not of his making, his mother was a Sicillian beauty, born in India and relocated by her family to an overcrowded flat in Londons 1950's, her olive skin was an unchangeable sufferage in unenlightened times. Both parents' cultural heritage have impacted on Jackson, their experience in 60's London weighed heavy on his experience in 70's and 80's formative growth.
He grew up in London, associated with troubled and in cases iliterate 'underworld' figures and hoped for a better life. His family were the go-to people for all those in need, yet inside the family unit, there was little conventional love to be appreciated, survival was the order of the day.
Mum and Dad could trace their family lineage back 1000 and 2000 years respectfully and their knowledge sharing with Jackson in vocalisation was secondary to actions of survival but when shard was divine, partly because there were always troubles which needed to be explained and also because both loved to hope for a better life for their children and had only the time to talk with all that was going on.
