Profile Information

I'm an A-level student, aged 17 with a vast interest in literature and all things literary orientated. I have been writing from the age of five and haven't stopped since. Although my early works mainly consisted of half-hearted re-tellings of my favourite video-games, novels and films, or a selecion of fairly generic adventures which glorified my own life to the extent that only a narcissit in the making can achieve, I would like to think that both my skills as a writer and my creativity have increased dramatically.

I now spend the vast majority of my time writing, whether it be for academic progress, my own narcassistic and self-absorbed needs, or the possibility of publishing my work one simple fact always remained the same. I enjoy writing immensly. There is simply nothing more theraputic, rewarding or fun in the entire world to me. In writing I can express feelings, desires and meanings that may seem perverse or even disturbing otherwise and whilst my creative writing is almost exclusively dark, I assure you that I enjoy every second of writing it.

Obviously my love of literature is not exclusively conined to a love of my own work, even I'm not that self-absorbed. My favourtie authors and literary influences include: Walter Moers (the German author of the outstanding The Thirteen and a Half Lives of Captain Bluebear, several other novels set in the same universe and several comic books and television shows, most of which are, sadly, only available in the authors native tongue), Flann O'Brien (author of several absurdly insane books, most notabley The Third Policeman in my opinion), Alan Moore (the writer of Watchmen, the singularly most important comic book ever written. Not without due cause), Shakespeare (he had to be in there), Mervin Peake (author of the Gormenghast trilogy, which, like marmite, you'll either love or hate), Frank Miller (the writer of The Dark Knight Returns the second most important comic ever written), Kurt Vonnegut (possibly the most profound man who ever lived) and George Orwell (author of the two most important political novels ever written 1984 and Animal Farm ).

Obviously my interests consist of more than a simple love of literature. I am also in love with the mediums of film and video gaming, although I have tried to cultivate these interests towards my love of literature. I upload weekly reviews to my website and maintain a look upon the media as a whole through the use of my blog. I have also written and shot several short films which will soon be uploaded to YouTube and I'm currently in the middle of scripting a feature length film based upon Lewis Carrol's Alice in Wonderland.

Personally I struggle with numerous mental health issues which have, can and will cause me to drop under the radar occasionally. Other than that I'm told that I constantly sound sarcastic and would make an excellent comedian.

With all my side projects you may be wondering what exactly I will be uploading to this website. My answer is short, samples from things I wish to get published, short stories I can't find a place for, stand-up comedy scripts, fan fiction, film scripts and on occasion lyrics and poetry found in the most hidden areas of my notebook.
