New Collection of Short Stories

My newest collection of short stories BOXCAR TALES: Revisited has recently been released through Driftless Endeavors and can now be found on Amazon in paperback for $8.95 and on kindle for $2.99.  Should anyone on booksie take the time to read it, I'd love to hear your opinions.

With the unexpected collapse of Outlaws Publishing, my western novels have now been released anew through Two Gun Publishing, an all new western publisher who I hope to be working with for a long time to come.  SCARECROWS OF GOLDEN PRAIRIE and THE LEGEND OF WHISKEY CHARLIE are available in paperback and kindle through Amazon.com.

I am currently offering a FREE kindle version of my new books THE LEGEND OF WHISKEY CHARLIE and SCARECROWS OF GOLDEN PRAIRIE to up to ten people in exchange for giving it an honest Amazon review.  Recipients can read the e-books on any device with the free kindle app for iPhone, iPad, Android phones and tablets, PC and Mac, and on kindle e-readers and Fire tablets.  Anyone interested, please message me and we'll set it up.  I would, of course, gladly return the favor any time.

*note: if you have kindle unlimited, it's already FREE to you*

My western short story "The Ballad of Bootlip Bill" has been published to the front page of Outlaws Echo Magazine (March 5, 2020).  The story can be found at outlawsecho.com

I am very proud to have had three of my western stories: "Black Appaloosa", "Where the Bad Folks Go", and "Phantom of the Wood" published on Rope and Wire.  Check them out for free at the link below!

Finally, THE SEVEN BASTARDS OF HUSK KNOLL, a book of western stories is available through Amazon.  If anyone decides to give it a read, I can promise you will not be disappointed.  There is some great writing in this book.  A special thanks to my co-authors: Robert Kasch, Mr. Watson, Jon E. H. Burton, Jeffrey Paolano, Larry Payne and Jack Hill for inviting me along for the ride.  It's been an interesting experience and I am humbled to be included in such a talented group.

Still periodically at work on my DE VRIES novel.  The novel's general synopsis is to tell the story of a group of Dutch immigrants who settle in urban America, where they struggle to establish their identity and protect their people while surviving in the midst of a criminal underworld of violence and corruption.  Find a sample chapter in my portfolio.

***A note to all who participated in the SKITCH-BOT project: Great Job!  The entire book turned out fantastic.  I am more than happy to have a bit of my work included in a volume filled with such excellent material.  Thank you for the opportunity.

I am incredibly honored to have my work appear along with the writing of such talented authors in the ONE HUNDRED CROWS book and volumes one through six of THE RONIN EXPRESS, all of which are currently available through Amazon.com.

The imaginative and highly recommended book by Robert Kasch: DOC HOLLIDAY AND HIS MUDD CREEK REGULATORS is available on Amazon.com.  This novel guarantees an entertaining read with great adventure and awesome illustrations throughout.  Part Western, part steampunk, part science fiction, and very original.  Check it out, you will not be disappointed!

Thank you to all who have read and continue to read my work.

Profile Information

"Jason Crager is a self educated and self taught writer who has dared to tread many dangerous paths in life and developed a unique and powerful system of beliefs and morals along the way.  He has stared into the eyes of death and encountered the dark pit of society first hand: crime, poverty, violence, addiction, incarceration.  Through it all, he has emerged with his honor unscathed.  Having left behind but never forgotten the remnants of a destructive past, he now lives a happy and peaceful life with his family in the beautiful river and bluff country of DeSoto, Wisconsin."

Jason's books: BOXCAR TALES: Revisited, THE LEGEND OF WHISKEY CHARLIE, SCARECROWS OF GOLDEN PRAIRIE, UNBRIDLED HUMANITY: A Collection of Disturbing Tales and ALONG A LIGHTER PATH: Selected Stories are currently available through Amazon.com and its affiliates, as well as on barnesandnoble.com.
