Mixed Bag

I have a variety of new stuff up!  Several poems and a piece of flash fiction.

The poems are: 'The First Fairy', 'Player's Respite' and 'Freedom's Lair'.  The flash fiction is titled 'A Case of Miscommunication' - it's supposed to be a humorous piece, though I'm not sure how well I fared at that.

In any event, enjoy and thank you for reading!

Ciao for now!

I'm not what I was

I am what I will be

My goals and aspirations won't define me in the future

They define me now

As I diligently work towards them

The future is always bright for those who work towards it today

I joined Booksie for the same reason I'm sure most of us have: to throw my stuff up for other people to read and comment on, get a feel for what people think about my work, learn what I need to improve on, as well as build my self-confidence.  I'm not one to show my work to family or friends, and it's the words of strangers that will have the biggest, most positive impact on me, anyways, whether it's negative or positive feedback I receive.  I'm open to any of it.

The book I'm working on is titled Deleria, and you can read what I have polished to my satisfaction here.  I'm proud of it.

I love getting feedback - good or bad - on what I've written.  You can't grow as a person, or a writer for that matter, without being dosed with the truth.  So dose me with it when you read my stuff.  Please.

Thank you to my fans and those who read my stuff for helping encourage me to keep going.

There ain't no particular genre that I stick to (I realize that's a double negative - don't feel that reflects my work).  I've written or am working on short stories which are: thrillers, mystery, historical fiction, fantasy, sci-fi, and children's stories.

For any writer out there who wants to make it a full-time job, but is worried about sustaining a decent income off their work, try taking courses in copywriting.  It will more than help pay the bills between books.

I am what I never thought I would be

I am what I never could be

We are what we make ourselves

I would rather have a mind opened by wonder than one closed by belief. - Gerry Spence

P.S. Check out the work of:

starsthatfellonrandumgirlatnite writes beautiful poetry and has a very interesting story she's written entitled Anatomy of a Fallen Angel She's a fantastic writer and is obsessed with the stars, as is evident in her amazing short story, Peace Lillies for the Living Dead Many of her poems have a more personal meaning behind them with powerful messages.  I recommend Window Shopping, Free Sample . . .?, and You'll Never Read This, You'll Never Hear My Words Each are heart-gripping pieces.

Looking for inspirational, truthful, and cheery poems?  Look to Pink Sky  Her poetry is loaded with truths everyone can identify with, as well as positive vibes.  Check out Hope and Strength and Little Piece.

Hanorbi; he is an incredible talent, be it poetry or short stories, this guy has a future in writing.  He is a tremendous talent!

And while you're at it, look up berkleyrenefreund; she is one of the most talented sci-fi writers I've read, and that includes amongst the pros.  I highly recommend reading her short story: Ghosts All of her stuff is good, though.

If you're into poetry, Mr. Watson is an awesome poet.  I instantly liked his work.  He has some great dark pieces such as: The London Fog (it has a few parts to it) and What Lies Within These Walls.  He also has some good humourous poems, too.  When Our World Unites is a fantastic write by this man!  Filled with sad truths.  His style varies, as do the subjects he writes about.  Always a good read.

If you're in search of a book with a great story that will get you involved with the characters, I recommend checking out Waiting Room by Donner.  Single mom with a newborn, living with two roommates, who is introduced to a very charming and cute guy who likes her for who she is.  At the same time, her ex enters the picture hoping to be involved in their child's life, and hoping they might be able to patch things up.  Great twists, excellent emotional content!  The dialogue is tremendously well written - very real.  Follow Marley as she struggles to figure out what her heart wants, which man she should be with; Luke or Jake, while being the best mother she can be.

And at last, I will say Ciao for Now.
