Profile Information

I'm not much of a reader, but for some strange reason I've felt compelled to write since I was 11 years old. My first story back then wasn't anything impressive, but over the last 13 years I've been refining it and rewriting it into sci-fi/fantasy epic that I hope one day becomes something incredible. To date, the main entries of this series consists of 10 books and 22 short stories, spin-offs, and compilations all within the same universe. It's been a daunting project, but I've spent more than half my life with it and I refuse to give it up.

I work at Best Buy, but on my spare time I'm a columnist for vVv-Gaming.com; an organization dedicated to the gaming community and all aspects of it. I've had two articles published in Chicago Now's "Geek To Me" section since I joined about 3 months ago. Thanks to vVv my name is starting to get out there, but I know I still have a long way to go.

I keep my friends closer to me than my own family. I've never really liked my family but that's probably because each and every member of it falls into the roles of every stereotype of Puerto Ricans imaginable. There are a few cousins I like to be around...like two or three. I'm the black sheep and I couldn't be more grateful as I seem to be the only one with half a functioning brain cell and the incredible knack to string pretty words together into something coherent.

I can be cold when I have to be, but for the most part I'm a very kind, generous, and shy individual. I love being surrounded by people and yet I often find myself unable to partake in the enjoyment unless there's someone I know and trust with me. I've got a pretty messy past that I don't like to get into detail about so I'll just say that too many bad things happen to me and it shows when you read the unfortunate events that happen my main character Zach Rodriguez in Eternal Soul. Yes, he's Puerto Rican. Why? Because SOMEONE has to break the damn stereotype of useless, horny, annoying, trashtalking spanish person. Might as well be me. I've also gto two highly intelligent black characters (one of them is British) that DOESN'T die or speak in eubonics, a hot blond that can kick ass just as exceptionally well as the men, and a pretty boy douchebag who has a tragic past and good reason to be such an unlikable character.

I love music and always have specific songs playing on my iPod depending on the scene I'm writing. My playlists are divided based on which scene is appropriate and there are literally HUNDREDS of sings on each list. As I said before I'm not much of a reader (ironically) but I've been working on it with satisfactory results *^_^*. I DO however appreciate well-written stories in other mediums like TV, film, and video games. I'm an avid gamer and I love to tear a game to shreds in a review or rant when I come across a really bad one or I just bash on something stupid or wrong the industry is doing(which has happened a lot lately).

That's me in a very condensed nutshell. There's absolutely no way I can explain any more without reliving every memorable minute of my life. I've become pretty complicated, but thanks to some acting lessons, I come off as ridiculously simple-minded. Maybe too simple-minded because many people are under the impression that I'm retarded. It does make for some pretty funny awkward moments, though. :P
