It's been a while...

This summer has been really crappy, I've been looking for a part-time job and failing; as well as failing to get into university, so I've somewhat become depressed. It's been really tuff especially with the pressure I've been getting from my parents to get into university or college and start a full time job. I wanted to teach English or become a writer but I don't feel as strongly motivated to complete these goals. What I really love is reading and writing novels, I've been thinking about becoming an editor for a publishing company and have been doing the research on how I might go about that.

I have had no inspiration for new novels or short stories this summer, sadly. I usually get my inspiration for a contest but lately people have been using the contest category to promote their novels and short stories. Since this started I have not seen any contests. This is very disappointing, and for those people who post under the category, contests, in order to promote themselves please know that everyone else is struggling to promote their works just as much as you and taking advantage of this wonderful category that people enjoy using for for contests has been sullied by your need to have more views, more comments, and more likes. I am going to tell you that most of those view are wasted by the people looking for contest. For I do not look at your works because they are not contests, I will not encourage this and leave before reading your work whether or not it is good.

There are better ways to promote yourself, like social media, and requesting. Like some people who have requested me to critique, I have done, to the best of my abilities, to give a fair review not just on their works as artists but also their grammatical errors. As well if you want to get views and comments do the same for others and they might return the favor. Its hard, yes, but trying to take short cuts will only hinder your work rather than if you put in the hard work. I can test to this by the summer, two years ago, when I did put in the effort and my results boosted, and since I have not been as motivated but I am trying to complete a real novel, get published and have a broader fan base.

Summer of 2016...

I've finally got some free time this summer and, so I want to have more people reading my work. I've worked so hard to publish short stories, scripts, and novels. I've participated in contest, and I have a facebook and twitter account detcated to posting my work and getting people to read my work. I still don't have too many people reading my stuff but since I started working on it heavily this summer there's definely an imporovement.

I love getting request from people to read their works and I love it even more when they return the faver and leave a comment. Its made me so happy to write and post all my work and getting nothing but positive feed back (though I don't get that may comments)

Thanks to everyone who is reading my work and asking for request to read your work as well. <3

Profile Information

I'm a big fan of CC Hunter and Kelly Armstrong; I like anything supernatural including the twilight series which my friends forced me to read. They also got me into anime and manga. I found out that I had a love for creative writing after taking my first writers course in high school and have applied for professional writing at Algonquin. For a while now I've doubted about my career choice so I signed up on booksie to have people read my short stories and novels. By doing this I'll let the readers decide my future.
