Profile Information

The most important things I could list about myself are that I have been writing since I was 6 (on my mother's typewriter, it was great fun!), English is not my maternal language but I would never classify it as my second language either (my mind is a jumble of languages and voices), I have made Canada my home for the past three years and I do love the praries (despite the biting cold and annoying wind that never dies down) and, I love my pets. My dog is my favorite nightmare and she knows it, which is why she steals my socks every other day and buries them somewhere in the vast backyard.

Of lesser importance is that I was born and raised in Mexico City but I always knew (or hoped with uncharacteristic optimism) that I would one day move away to a place with more space and less people. Mission accomplished! My home town is small enough that you can count all the streets on your fingers and if you ever blink once more than necessary some neighbor or another will wonder what is wrong with you and, before you know it, someone has put some zuchinni in a basket and is delivering it to your front door.

"Sixth and lastly", I grew up completely in love with Elizabethan theatre, especially Shakespeare. Anytime, anywhere and anyperson can stop me and talk Shakespeare and I will never say no. I don't subscribe to a very romantic view of the bard but, his works are still a roaring good time (although sometimes not literally, you don't want to LOL too much when they are chopping people's hands and tongues off, right?).

And that's it, anything else is sound and fury and ocassional silence.

PS- I still hope to one day get my children authors (as in the children are the authors) micro-publishing company off the ground. Long live "Fat Chicken Books!"
