They say the eyes are the windows to the soul, I believe this but I believe whats in your heart is the door to it. Writing comes from the heart, despite us sometimes forcing stuff to rhyme, the background feelings are there. I find myself engrossed in writing recently and dont believe myself talented, just full of ideas. I hope my writing brings emotion and relevance to your life. I am totally inspired by the legendary Seamus Heany, thanks for being a true inspiration.
I sat all morning in the college sick bay
Counting bells knelling classes to a close,
At two o'clock our neighbours drove me home.
In the porch I met my father crying--
He had always taken funerals in his stride--
And Big Jim Evans saying it was a hard blow.
The baby cooed and laughed and rocked the pram
When I came in, and I was embarrassed
By old men standing up to shake my hand
And tell me they were "sorry for my trouble,"
Whispers informed strangers I was the eldest,
Away at school, as my mother held my hand
In hers and coughed out angry tearless sighs.
At ten o'clock the ambulance arrived
With the corpse, stanched and bandaged by the nurses.
Next morning I went up into the room. Snowdrops
And candles soothed the bedside; I saw him
For the first time in six weeks. Paler now,
Wearing a poppy bruise on the left temple,
He lay in the four foot box as in a cot.
No gaudy scars, the bumper knocked him clear.
A four foot box, a foot for every year.
Favourite Song Lyrics
The coronas, someone elses hands.
And I'm sorry, cos now I have to go
You know we got to close and I hope you understand,
That I cant give you, all the things you want, you know my heart belongs,
In someone elses hands.... someone elses hands.
Daughtry - Call your name
And when you fall apart
Am I the reason for your endless sorrow?
There's so much to be said.
And with a broken heart
Your walls can only go down but so low
Can you hear me, whe I call your name
