Feedback received:

"I'm not usually into 'war novels' but your writing is so good...I couldn't seem to stop."

It is quite rare for a writer to both understand, and make the reader understand, both male and female characters, and I think you've done this.”

“You had me on the edge of my seat at some points I just kept getting closer and closer to the screen.”

“heart wrenching and thought provoking...Well done...”

“Despite all the dark war talk, you once again were able to weave in humor and a certain 'lightness' to the situation.”

“This was beautiful. So happy and sad; and a little funny.”

“You're doing such an amazing job at capturing their emotions. It's amazing to see different perspectives and how truly different they are from each other given the circumstance.”

“Wow. That's all I have. I cried, I cheered, this is really, really well written. In the moment, exciting, scary. I don't have words.”

“in such a short amount of time you have attached me to all these characters in the book in a very real way.”

Cover.jpg - A story of Love, loss and heartbreak set against an invasion of the US mainland.

Feedback received:

“I was gripped from the start and it just pulled along until I was eventually disappointed that it ended”

" Yet again you've easily swept me into another one of your FANTASTIC NOVELS."

“ brilliant descriptions! and what a hero you have created!self sacrificing and brave! action packed and thoroughly entertaining!”

“ Can't believe how attached I am to the characters already- it's on the first freakin' chapter! A solid female character is hard to find nowadays in books; annoys the hell out of me when they're whiny, but your characters aren't like that.”

“Im glad I stayed and caught up with your chapters. Your style of writing can take you very far period but surely for this story. They bind perfectly.”

That Bastard Seagull - A humorous short story where I take on an evil seagull in a battle of wills.

“This is absolutely fantastic, I just laughed all the way through it. It reminded me of a grown up cartoon.”

“ This was incredibly funny and really original. The main character's reactions to the seagull were the best for me.”

“ I swear your stories should come with a warning , ie - this story could seriously damage one's ribs due to over laughter and some family members may think you've lost the plot.”

My Wonderful Day Trip - Another amusing tale from the darker recesses of my mind. Winner of Letsgetreading's Use a Song Lyric Contest.

“ This was full of comical moments it brought a tear to my eye because at the end I've never laughed so hard reading a story before.”

“ This truly did have me cackling out loud and I just love it when a story can do that, your writing is so good that you don't even need much, just a few words and some dialogue and BAM an amazing read.”

Reading Requests

Ok, so it is pretty bad that I am having to do this but due to people never ever returning requests or just taking the complete p**s - and I'm talking about over the course of 3 months, not ten minutes - I am setting out some pretty rigid rules for requests. They don't apply to my Booksie crew (You all know who you are) because they always have and always will make time for my writing, just like I always will for theirs.

1. You want a response this side of christmas? Take the time to read and leave feedback on my work, then leave me a request in the comments on my profile. "I liked this", "I loved this", "kmu", "My cat says this was good" etc, does NOT constitute feedback. If this is what you throw onto my work then expect the same in return, or any requests to be ignored. Any requests made within my work, will get deleted and ignored.

2. A 5/20 error policy is now in effect when I read someone's work. This means I will point out up to 5 errors then I won't point out any more but I will continue to count. If I reach a count of 20, I will stop reading, leave my corrections and ask you to re-read and correct it before I read further. It takes too long and my reading list is expanding so I've had to do this as I am struggling to find the motivation to correct people on the 50 odd errors I find because they were too lazy to do it themselves.

Tip: Create a duplicate document and set the spacing to double line spacing, then read through it. You'll pick up mistakes really easily on that and then you can just update the original.

3. I am lazy, I will not search through 30 stories to find one to read. I much prefer it if you are specific about which piece of work you want feedback on. It saves me time and you get feedback sooner rather than never, lol.

4. Post your request once, (accidental duplicates are ok, I do this a lot) just because I haven't gotten round to a request doesn't mean I won't. If I have deleted your request and not read any of your work. Congratulations, because it means you haven't bothered to read these rules.

5. Unless your poetry is as subtle as a kick in the balls, I won't read it.
