Neola is my pen name for now. (A character name given to me by my best friend years ago.) I am a storyteller. I tell verbal stories, draw pictures, make films - just about any form of storytelling you can imagine. But mostly, I write. I write a lot. For fun.
I've been writing since I was old enough to pick up a pencil. Eventually, I learned how to spell and my stories became legible. I'm twenty-three now and I've completed two novels, a feature-length screenplay, and so many short stories and poems I can't count them. But most of them have never seen the light of day and I plan to rectify that.
I don't care about money or attention or anything. I just want people to read what I've written. I'll even take critical feedback. I like to learn just about as much as I like to write. The two go hand in hand. So please, critic me. But I also like positive feedback. (Who doesn't.) I haven't gotten much encouragement while keeping my work to myself so, as you can imagine, I'd like to hear a compliment or two.
Also I mentor other writers. I like to help blossoming talent. One of my mentees has gone on to publish his book. I am thrilled when people ask me to read or edit their work.
I have had a recent foray into fan fiction to satiate my storytelling apetite without much investment. (Ah, life continues to interrupt art.) The results have been pleasing and my best friend (same as mentioned above) as asked that I publish it for public consumption. So I shall. That is the purpose, for now, of this account. A dumping ground of sorts for my fan fiction. If things go well, and by that I mean I receive enough positive feedback, I may publish more.
P.S. I'm not as humorless as all that makes me sound. I'm quite friendly and cheerful and love a good laugh. I'm just nervous so my introduction is a little stiff. I'll fix it later, when I'm feeling more comfortable.
