Profile Information

I had an elongated undergraduate career that spanned three universities (one was an interim - I went as a non-degree student) and four majors. Also, I use parentheses way more than I should because I have a very disorganized manner of thinking (and writing really helps with this...sometimes).

So since I graduated, I miss the process of being a student. I miss falling asleep at night and literally seeing ideas from different classes swirling and eventually merging or overlapping in my head. Most of the missing is of the process and "completion" of writing...how seeing a manifestation of your thoughts organizes and focuses you.

Now, I get to find a middle ground in writing, or maybe what I mean by that is my own voice (ouch! cliche-pinch!). I get to mix the nonfiction writing I love with tidbits of ideas that seem to fall into my head, grow (but a better word than grow), and turn into my own hopefully engaging, hopefully thoughtful, slightly less structured, possibly awkwardly phrased piece of written work.

Thus, I am here, giving you the reason I am here. This will serve as my first writing attempt on this website. It is unfinished (how freakin' poetic).  I'm sure I will edit (I have no control in this), but for now, it's a bit like revving my engine.

Last, I'm going to start posting my writing (tummy churns a bit at that) - it will be papers I wrote for courses (you'll be able to tell). However, it will make me feel good to 'publish' something and inspire me to continue. Seriously, it will.
