I'm Nick. I've been writing for as long as I can remember, literally. Even making up silly little stories at primary school as part of English classes turned out to be quite a hit with me. I've always enjoyed debating things in depth and this is where one of my book projects comes in. For about three or four years now I've been adding to a project, a genre, that I'd like to think is original. It's a book that discusses the many ideas and conventions of our times, where they might have come from and even how some of them are quite silly! Throughout, I try to keep an upbeat tone for the reader to enjoy the many points I make. It can be rather un-pc and extremely opinionated but for this reason exactly, I have added little intermissions throughout, explaining certain parts of my life that lead me to such strong opinions. Ideally, I want to share the inner workings of my ponderous mind with others who may feel as enthusiatic about debating such things as I do.
I meantioned how this was one of my projects. There are two. The other is a sci-fi novel. Originally I had an extremely vivid dream and decided to start writing around it as a fully fleshed out story. After about 10,000 words it simply fizzled out. Skip ahead two years and I picked it up again, rewriting it entirely from memory. In those two years my writing style became far more mature and suddenly I was at 10,000 once again and had barely scraped past the introduction of the story. I'm very excited for these two books as I'm extremely inspired in their writing and, ambitious as it may be, I hope to see them on the shelves one day. Aside from these little works of mine, I tend to simply write. Write what goes on in my head and have a little debate with myself.
I hope you enjoy the bits and bobs I put up here and who knows, maybe a publisher will see my work and believe it to be something worth cultivating. I know you guys are out there somewhere, and perhaps you'll happen across this site. One can but try...
