Profile Information

You don’t know me.

I am a stranger.

The girl you see in the background.

You pass by me on the street.

We make eye contact.

I was in your life just for that long.

Enough to connect.

For my life to be in yours.

And then I go.

I’m the cashier behind the counter.

I’m ringing you up.

You know my name, because they make me wear a name tag.

It’s a boring name.

You’ll forget what it is after you walk out the store.

I’m the old man that is eating accross from you.

At your favorite restaurant. Or is it a coffee shop?

You don’t really even look at me. You just glance.

Just long enough to assess that I’m in your surroundings.

No, I’m always in the background. This is why my name does not matter. I am a passerby, not someone you love.

Maybe next time we run into each other, I’ll wave.
