Profile Information

Alice Shapiro is a Pushcart-nominated poet and author of two collections of poetry.  She was also nominated for Georgia Author of the Year for her first poetry book Cracked: Timeless Topics of Nature, Courage and Endurance.  Both Cracked, and her second collection, Life: Descending / Ascending (TotalRecall Press 2010) are available on her website at or on Her third collection, Saltian, is due out Fall 2011 (unbound CONTENT Press). Shapiro is also winner of the Bill C. Davis Drama Award for a verse tragedy which will be performed again at the Turner Cassity Literary Festival in July 2011.  Original Japanese incidental flute music has been composed for it by Eric Ford.

Shapiro has a grand interest in collaborations and producing unique poetry projects.  "The Change Interviews" is an audio project of Pushcart nominated and winning poets that is on her website, and at Poets House in NYC.  She is currently producing a TV reality series for poets who compete for a book contract.  Contact her through her website.
