About

Good question.  I'm still working on the answer

I was born to a normal middle-class family in the foothills of the Ozark Mountains, west of St. Louis, Missouri. After an unremarkable youth and adolescence, I joined the US Army as an infantryman in 1975 and transferred to Military Intelligence as a Counterintelligence Agent in 1982. I remained in the counterintelligence world from 1982 to 2015 with the Army, various contractors, Multi-National Force–Iraq, US Forces–Afghanistan, and Defense Intelligence Agency. In 2015 I returned home to Texas and worked as an independent consultant. I put work on hold in 2020 to provide full-time care for my wife of 42 years, until her passing in January 2021. In May 2021 I began working as a marketing consultant for an IT firm.

In my life, I have been a cattle rancher, hayfield worker, apple picker, warehouse worker, convenience store clerk, infantryman, husband, father, leader, sergeant, scuba diver, dive boat captain, investigator, military officer, bodyguard, security officer, bouncer, private investigator, network administrator, IT trainer, IT team leader, intelligence officer, intelligence team leader, grad student, a senior advisor to all coalition forces in Iraq, military hospital patient, grandfather x 5, a widower, a program manager, biker, independent consultant, senior intelligence subject matter expert, senior intelligence planner and now, trying to figure this shit out.
