Ron Ten Berge and the Tech World through Schering Pharmaceuticals

While Ron Ten Berge worked at Schering Pharmaceuticals utilizing Siebel Systems’ CRM software, he was in constant contact with Silicon Valley.

He flew there often and almost ended up in the world of technology but didn’t because 9/11 happened and he watched it unfold while he was living in New Jersey. When his project with Schering was over, he had the option of remaining with the company until a new job became available but he was offered a job working with his best friend in Chicago at Wrigley.

Ron Ten Berge asked the president at Schering if it would be okay if he moved on and the president said yes. Ron was also offered a job in the tech world, which would have led him back to his home state, California, but he chose to work in Chicago for and with his best friend.

He chose this route because he has always said, do what you do because you love it, not for the money and he decided to live his values. He was only at Wrigley for a short time but he enjoyed it and learned the mechanisms of international business.

He was deeply involved with the global Walmart business there.
