Profile Information

I hate traveling now. When I was a kid and they did icebreakers with us where you said your name and something you like, I always said Garret and traveling. If someone asked me now it'd be Garret and remaining. Garret and staying put. Garret and being fucking stationary. This is the first time I've been in New York City, obviously it's pathetic now. Just the sounds of birds and rats, no voices. I've made my way here from a little city in western Nebraska, walking, obviously. I've assumed that if there was anyone else left alive they'd be in a big city like this. The only thing I've been walking for was that, to speak to another person. I've been in every fucking building and every fucking building is empty, void of humans. I've been sleeping in an apartment that had a bed that wasn't totally eaten by rats and bugs. They also had a lot of canned food in their pantry that I've been eating. The loneliness I've felt the past year has been indescribable. Not only have I not spoken to anyone, or seen anyone, I have the knowledge that I never will. The common sense that I'm the only one. So, this is it. This is my suicide note that'll be unread. I'm leaving it under a brick on the top level of this apartment complex, the 40th floor. I hope heaven is real so I can talk to all of you again.

Garret set the brick on the note and walked over to the window. He pulled it open and pushed out the window screen. He pulled himself out of the window and pushed off. He closed his eyes tightly, and as he waited for impact, he heard a phone ring on the 28th floor. He opened his eyes and yelled, "FUCK".
