In the beginning there was darkness, an ever expansive darkness that was truly endless, eventually a great god emerged to perfect this boring existence and bring some flavor that could truly be appreciated. This god was Jhin, he carried a magnificent paintbrush with an endless array of color at its disposal, and with this brush he worked, he worked for roughly a week. Such a large expanse would be impossible to fill for any other painter, but Jhin was a master of his craft, and felt a true drive to make the darkness beautiful. As he worked, there was a great disturbance around him, the darkness shifted and squirmed, like parasites under a layer of skin. From the darkness emerged Zed, an embodiment of the darkness being painted over, he was upset his darkness was being painted over in layers of color and brightness, and came to stop Jhin before the darkness no longer existed. The 2 had a large confrontation, the ferocity of Zed’s strikes were still no match for the speed and precision of the master painter, but eventually Jhin tired, but before the final blow was struck, Jhin let out a final brushstroke, and created a protector of pure light, and a being of balance known as Shen. Shen protected Jhin, and locked Zed away behind a veil of light, a system of small pressure points now known as the stars, eternally holding the darkness in place so it cannot break free and wreak havoc on things that are not pure darkness. Jhin now lives in the sun, a ball of heat and energy so that he may regulate the life he put on a desolate planet known as earth, where he sits, waiting for a good moment to paint again.
