Profile Information

Hello there! I'm Shie, Psychology graduate (and now working in a government agency). A friend invited me to join here so I can share some of my works that I used to keep, only letting few close frineds to read them. Well, I've been an aspiring writer since I was in grade school. I have written a lot of stories , mostly short stories, but before, I started to make comic strips first. For some time I realized that literature is a better way to express my ideas, and pursued it until high school, up to now. Though comic strips have been my little business back then, (When I make comic strips, my classmates pay for it), a thought came to me that okay, I'd prefer being a writer than a comic artist. Writing is like some kind of drug to me.

I'm an introvert, and literature is one good outlet of expressing myself, ideas, or anything that runs on and off in my mind. I tend to hinder my thoughts from other people (I'm not that sociable), and one of the most protruding themes of my works are often about observing people, something psychological in a way that my main characters are usually talking to themselves, with their opinions and perceptions are revealed as the story goes on, and so the readers would have an idea of what kind of person he/she is. I used to put twists and hidden matters on the story, that somehow, might not be expected, favorable or undesirable, maybe depending on the character's personality. A mystery for instance, or some kind of presentiment.

One thing that challenges me is how to start a story, though I can visualize how the story would go, it's process, the circumstances and how would it end. Also, is the title. I don't use to make obvious titles for my work, and I'm always having a hard time deciding on it. I want my titles to be somewhat connected, yet there's a hint of irrelevancy, some kind of symbolism, or metaphor.

Aside from that, I also sing, play the guitar, draw, (yes, still sticking to my first love, drawing), make keychains and tiny stuffed toys, and now I'm trying to learn how to dance. I don't know. Maybe I just love to learn a lot of stuffs since I am a small girl, and I want to learn a lot of things, and I'm always ready and willing to learn new stuffs. This is some kind of "small but terribe" blah blahs that motivates me everytime I explore myself to interesting things around me.

So there it is. Hope I'll enjoy the community here and meet people that can give me advices or some hlep, and maybe I can do the same thing. :)
