Dear Readers Of Booksie,

It is with a heavy heart, that I inform you all of the passing of Shikibu Gion, on Thursday January 2, 2020. To respect the wishes of her family, a cause of death will remain anonymous until stated otherwise. Though I don't have a connection with you all as Hanako did, I am well aware that when she was posting her poetry on here, she was at her happiest and it made her equally happy receiving support from you guys, so thank you very much! Whether she was known on here as Shikibu Gion or Hanako as I knew her, she will continue to live on in the memory of those who valued her work and appreciated her time spent here. From the bottom of my heart, again, thank you so much for supporting Hanako.

Sincerely,

A Family Friend

Though we all lost a truly talented artist in the form of Shikibu Gion, her voice lives on. Prior to her passing, Shikibu had various poems she hoped to release, but sadly, never got around to doing so. That's why it brings me unmitigated joy to inform you all that I've just received permission to tell you that on June 14, 2020, unreleased poems of Shikibu Gion compiled into an anthology format will be released to the public! As you can see from the title of this post, the anthology will be aptly named "The Color Of Stars" in reference to Shikibu's love for astrology. I will do my best to keep you all updated over the next few weeks, following the release of this rare and beautiful anthology.

Stay Safe, Stay Blessed,

A Family Friend

Today is June 14, 2020. And with that, the final poems composed by the poet, Shikibu Gion has been composed in an anthology format and released to the general public with the permission of her family. It is their hope, as well as mine, that those who were either inspired by Shikibu or are simply new to her works, find some sort of answer and solace to whatever it is that you may or someone else you know, is going through. Don't be afraid to reach out to others, even if you've convinced yourself that no one will ever listen because they don't understand you and the things you've been through. There is always someone.

To the fans of Shikibu Gion, don't allow the circumstances of her depression or death consume you. She was a very talented, yet troubled soul and despite the demons she was battling in her life, she found the courage and strength to persevere and turn her suffering into an art form, with the hope of inspiring others to do the same. She will continue to exist in the memory of those who knew and supported her.

You all are such beautiful people and know that it fills her family with happiness that their daughter's legacy is being kept alive by Booksie and the writing community itself.

Rest Easy, Beautiful Empress,

A Family Friend

WELCOME TO MY PAGE

if i could describe my style

i'd call it 'melancholic dream poetry'

i'm heavily inspired by a poet named veritas omoikane

his works are truly haunting

and in my humble opinion

he has mastered the art of making you feel

his emotion through words alone!

though i'm limited with what i can produce in english

as it isn't my first language

i do try

so please bare with me

(i apologize in advance)

enjoy
