I'm 20yo living in Australia, currently studying to be a teacher. I want to teach VCE studies, and I'm majoring in Psychology and History.
I love reading, I love Literature all and any sorts and I'm a strong believer in the more you read the better. Because if you're not reading to purposefully gain knowledge, you're achieving the same end by viewing the world through the ideas of another writer but for pleasure. Therefore gaining their knowledge, vocab and experiences.
I think there is something very intimate about reading someone elses writing. Because as an identity what are we? -Other then our knowledge, memories, experiences- And when writing the stories we write, thats our point of reference. So by sharing our stories we share our identity. Just another reason I love to read and to write.
I started writing as a child and didn't realise I had a passion for it till much later, I hated reading as a child. My Mother used to beg and plead and try to bribe me into reading something, anything! And up until about the 5th grade I resisted, which is when both she and my second cousin bought me the Harry Potter Books. Not a very inspired story for me to enter the world of literature with but its what got me started. From there I went crazy reading anything I could get my hands on, the school librarian used to let me borrow about 10books at a time knowing I'd have them read and returned by the end of the week.
So thats me in a nutshell. Look forward to reading the work on here and sharing my own.
