My is yours.
I believe writers leave a part of themselves, whether consciously or unconsciously, in whatever medium they choose for expression. You can see the intent of the writer in choosing the character and plot then weave together these two elements, will eventually lead to the story. Furthermore, this story could represent a part of the writer's life or imagined life thereof. I argue that one of the characters may also be based on the writer or someone special to him/her. Even if the story is the writer's fantasy, s/he still includes a part peek of what runs in his/her mind.
In writing fiction I have learned that the story will not be as effective or efficient in letting the audience "feel" for the characters or the situation if the heart (and not just the mind) is not incorporated in every word choice. I try to let my heart guide me and my mind to type in the words.
I can then say dear reader, that even in the dark recesses of my mind, my is yours if you take it.
