I believe writers leave a part of themselves, whether consciously
or unconsciously, in whatever medium they choose for expression.
You can see the intent of the writer in choosing the character
and plot then weave together these two elements, will eventually
lead to the story. Furthermore, this story could represent a part
of the writer's life or imagined life thereof. I argue that one
of the characters may also be based on the writer or someone
special to him/her. Even if the story is the writer's fantasy,
s/he still includes a part peek of what runs in his/her mind.
In writing fiction I have learned that the story will not be as
effective or efficient in letting the audience "feel" for the
characters or the situation if the heart (and not just
the mind) is not incorporated in every word choice. I try to let
my heart guide me and my mind to type in the words.
